New eyebrow treatment at the spa
Spa Manager Leanna Kew answers your questions about the new Brows by Mii treatment at the spa!
Can I choose any brow shape?
Each personalised Brow by Mii treatment will begin with a consultation from one of our highly trained therapists. During this time your brow stylist will use their knowledge, combined with your face shape, natural brow and the look you hope to achieve, to create a brow that is tailored perfectly to you.
This process includes plotting where the high point should be to create an arch that will lift and frame the eye area . Your therapist will also fill in the brows using the Precision Brow detailer (£12.50) and conceal the stray hairs they want to remove with the Conceal and Contour Duo to give you a true picture of how the brows will look at the end. They will consult with you during this process to adapt their vision to exactly what you want.
If you have an idea of the shape you would like, please bring along a picture to discuss during your consultation. While not all brow styles are suitable for every face shape, in many cases they can be adapted to create a look that works beautifully.
What happens during the treatment?
After your consultation, a combination of tinting, waxing and finishing techniques will be used to sculpt your look.
The Brows by Mii system uses one of the strongest tints on the market with a versatile range of colours giving you a long lasting effect and is applied with our specialist tint applicators for extra precise application.
Then the shaping begins with our gentle wax which has been developed specifically for precision brow work, and is infused with calming chamomile and lavender for the delicate eye area. The brows are usually trimmed if needed and then the finishing techniques are applied.
During the finishing process a Mineral Irrestible Face Base (£21) is applied to cover any slight redness, and the Conceal and Contour Duo (£11.50) perfectly highlights the brow bone.
Then you will be taught how to create the brows at home. For me, that’s using the Statement Brow Kit (£16.95) which comes complete with stencils and a brow powder in the easiest to use pen form with a sponge tip making it super easy to do at home. Then a slick of the Finishing Brow gel (£11.95) to keep hairs in place for truly tamed brows.
In your first session you will be given a Mini Mii makeover to give you the chance to try the rest of the Mii make up line too. So with a touch of blush and lipgloss you’ll be ready to take on the World!
I’ve over plucked my brows in the past can I still have a treatment?
Yes absolutely. Even if your brows are slow to grow or seem to not grow at all, your brow stylist can recommend a course of treatments to help you achieve a solution you are comfortable with. They will also show you how to use make-up to fill out your brows while you wait for your hair to grow in.
Will I get my ideal brows straight away?
It depends entirely on your natural eyebrows and the look you would like to achieve. Some brows will require a growing in period between appointments and may take a few treatments to reach their full potential.
How do I know that I will like the result?
We want you to feel confident, so not only will you be in the hands of a professional trained Brow by Mii stylist, you will be consulted through each step of the process and a preview of your look will be created before any hair is coloured or removed.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for the treatment?
You will need to visit our spa in Suffolk for a tint patch test at least 24 (preferably 48) hours before your appointment – this is free of charge and takes just a few minutes. We also ask that you resist the temptation to tweeze any stray hairs for 1-2 weeks before your treatment.
How often will I need to have a maintenance treatment?
This varies for all of us, however usually every 3-6 weeks to keep you looking your best.
