On Tuesday 2nd July 2013, esteemed author and horse racing enthusiast Jilly Cooper OBE joined the directors and friends of The Spa at the Bedford Lodge Hotel to officially open Newmarket’s first destination spa. Jilly Cooper OBE was accompanied by racing presenter and commentator Derek ‘Tommo’ Thompson and founder & CEO of ESPA, Susan Harmsworth MBE.
Over 60 people attended the grand opening, including the Mayor of Newmarket, press, local business representatives and VIPs. Guests enjoyed a champagne reception followed by a tour of the facilities.
Jilly Cooper said: “The spa is breathtaking!”
Susan Harmsworth agreed, adding: “Here you have it all, from facials and manicures to full relaxation.”
Spa Manager Anna Ramsay said: “We were delighted to have such a great turnout to our grand opening, and honoured to have Jilly Cooper OBE unveil our new spa. We are also grateful for all the tremendous support we have had from the local community and we’re excited now to be officially open to welcome our first guests.”
