      Ely Cathedral

Ely Cathedral is a stunning historical monument, built to the glory of God, which welcomes thousands of pilgrims and visitors every year.

Discover this wonder of the medieval world, nestled in the unique Fenland landscape. Explore the Cathedral’s rich history and architecture; enjoy panoramic views, moments of reflection and learn of the life of St Etheldreda. We recommend booking visitor tickets in advance, although tickets can be purchased on arrival at the Cathedral.  Ely Cathedral is a busy working cathedral so we advise you check any changes to opening times prior to your visit. There is also the option to include a visit to The Stained Glass Museum, housed upstairs in the Cathedral.

There are a range of tours available to enhance your visit which include Octagon Tower Tours, West Tower Experience and Ground Floor Tours. Prebooking of the tours is essential as places are limited.

This Christian Church also offers daily worship and a place of prayer and sanctity. It is the seat of the Bishop of Ely and the mother church of over 300 parishes that make up the Diocese of Ely.
