Reflexology can bring relief to a wide range of conditions as it has a deeply relaxing effect on the body, mind and emotions. This is a complementary holistic therapy that treats the whole person.
The earliest known practice of Reflexology on the feet dates back nearly 5,000 years to the Egyptians and has been practised in one form or another in China, India and North America. It is now an internationally recognised complementary therapy combining traditional knowledge of ancient communities with modern research.
Reflexology can help:
The treatment works areas on the feet and hands known as reflex points. Each relates to a specific area or system of the body. The feet are in effect, maps of the body. By applying directed pressure, tension and blockages can be broken down and free flow of energy to the whole body is promoted. The part of the body connected to the reflex point is also cleared, allowing the body to heal itself. With Reflexology, the whole person is being treated, energy continually flows throughout our bodies on all levels, physically, mentally and spiritually. By clearing tension and blockages the body finds its own natural balance on each of these levels.
Our Reflexology therapist Kerry Cole says "The most important thing to remember is to relax during your treatment. The treatment itself will consist of an applied pressure to the reflex points on the feet, along with relaxation techniques to encourage the body to heal and maintain a healthy balance.
I find everyone has their own unique response to the treatment. Whilst there are often immediate improvements after the initial treatment, significant benefits will be achieved over a number of sessions"
